PCML - Health & Safety Program

3.1     Disciplinary Action Policy

While at a workplace where PCML is the prime contractor, employer, or owner, all workers are required to abide by this Program, the Regulation, the Act, and any other applicable legislation. Many issues of non-compliance can be addressed and rectified through discussion but for repeat occurrences or where an action warrants further response, specific documented disciplinary action may be appropriate.

When PCML Site Management determines that specific documented disciplinary action is appropriate to address an issue of non-compliance they may, at their discretion, utilize any of the following disciplinary measures.

  • Written Warning

  • Temporary Suspension

  • Permanent Suspension

  • Fine

Documented record of this disciplinary action can be submitted via PolyNet or using the Safety Violation Notice form. If using the Safety Violation Notice form a copy, signed by the Site Superintendent, shall be forwarded to the Safety Manager and the Construction Manager for the project.

Progressive Disciplinary Action

While any of the disciplinary measures are available to PCML Site Management at any time, repeat occurences should be addressed by progressive disciplinary action. For example, a Written warning for the first occurrence, a Temporary suspension for a second occurrence, and a Permanent Suspension from the workplace for any subsequent occurrences.
